WHAT WE DO
We are dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers, celebrating the African‑American cowboy tradition, and engaging youth and community through equine connection, mentorship, education and outreach.
Founded and guided by third‐generation cowboy Issac Steele, our work brings horses, history and hope into Milwaukee’s neighborhoods and schools.
We teach about the Buffalo Soldiers – the African‑American U.S. Army units who served after the Civil War and later became park‑rangers, protectors of our land.
OUR IMPACT
-
Outreach at Juneteenth parades, Black Arts festivals, school visits and community events in Milwaukee and Racine.
-
Hands‐on access to horses for youth and community members, creating positive alternatives and stronger connections to nature and heritage.
-
Mentorship and leadership succession: with leaders like Kevin Nichols stepping forward to continue the mission.
